This paper analyses how organizational climate is concerned with stress levels among workers of a familiar commercial institution. Workers' perceptions about values like empowerment, leadership, recognition, equity and justice etc., are discussed here. As the corporation tried to create a new "modern" representation fot itself, following the new patterns of total quality culture, opening spaces for ethics, justice, excellence and social responsibility, deep changes took place. The results showed high levels in perception of positive organizational climate values, but also in stress leveis. The impact of social and cultural factors in results was considered, leading to some reflections on the meaning of work in different cultural environments
