Abstract

This article was made to discuss the insertion of the environmental management as an important variable to configure in a strategic planning for tbe organizations, considering that the global context includes the ecological movement, the consumers and stakeholders' changes and the pressure ofsocial movements seeking for better performances for organizations. It is composed by five sections: the first one discuss tbe ecological movement as a result of a historical process; the second one discuss about the insertion of this variable into the organizations; the third one presents tbe reactions of the organizations to tltis movement; the fourth one presents the steps to implant environmental programs in organizations and the fifth one discuss how tbe organizational psychologist can work with this variable in organizations, contributing to implantation, development of managers, training and facilitating cultural changing. The final discussion is about the organizational psychologists to work with this new variable into organizations and Universities to develop researches on ecological management
