GRASSI, Vanise; JACQUES, Maria da Graça Corrêa  and  SCHOSSLER, Ticiana. Consulting practices building in organizational and work psychology. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2007, vol.7, n.1, pp. 57-80. ISSN 1984-6657.

This study aimed at describing the path of pioneering enterprises in the offering of organizational and work psychology services in Rio Grande do Sul, investigating the relationship between the consulting practices and the political, historical and social-economical configurations of the working environment in the last decades. The research was developed in the qualitative approach based on a case study. Two pioneering companies in organizational and work psychology were chosen for the study. The findings collected by means of semi-structured interviews and documents of enterprises exam. It was verified that the recruitment and selection practices prevailed among the services available in the decade of 1970, thoroughly favored by the political and social economical context of the "Brazilian miracle" period. Lately, the last transformations in the productive context promoted the development of the consulting practices, that assume, for the participants of the study, quite diversified conceptions. The adaptation to the market, through the diversification of activities and the reproduction of the compressing processes and out source services, is an important strategy for the survival of the organizations
