Social and organizational acceleration has been increasing during last decades. According to my view, work and organizational psychology has to overcome several challenges in order to promote better quality of working life as well as individual performance in organizations. We need to increase the number of empirical studies using longitudinal designs both at the macro level as well as at the micro level as the events that one has to face during the working day. Other challenge concerns the need to increase the number of multilevel studies, to increase the applicability of scientific knowledge, and to slowdown the acceleration of researchers' activity in order to make better theory that can give an effective contribution to improve the individuals' well-being and performance at work.
