The purpose of this study was to test the mediating role of applied learning strategies in the relation between learning and training impact at work. Learning is considered a necessary condition, but it is not sufficient for training to be considered effective. Contextual factors and individual characteristics can influence the transfer of knowledge, skills, and attitudes towards work activities. This study included 271 trainees in a course focused on project management in the area of federal public administration. It used the scales for applied learning strategies and training impact at work, with their validity tested in previous studies, as well as two parallel instruments as measures of learning (pre and post-test). The data collection took place in three distinct phases, the first and last days of training and 60 days after its conclusion. The results obtained through multivariate analyses confirmed the mediating role of applied learning strategies at work.
