FRIEDRICH, Ariela Cristine Dias; MACEDO, Fernando  e  REIS, Aline Henriques. Vulnerability to stress at work in young adult. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2015, vol.15, n.1, pp. 59-70. ISSN 1984-6657.  http://dx.doi.org/10.17652/rpot/2015.1.499.

Stress refers to psychophysiological changes that arise from situations that are beyond the individual capacity for coping. Occupational stress is characterized by aspects of the work threatening to individuals. This study examined the vulnerability to stress at work in young academic workers in the private sector in Cascavel, PR and quantified the susceptibility to stress under three factors: climate and organizational functioning, work pressure and infrastructure and routine according to the professional group the young subject was inserted. The scale of vulnerability to stress at work (EVENT) was applied to 480 young university students aged between 18 and 25 years old (M= 21, 57, DP=2,425). The results showed that every professional group presented little susceptibility to stress at work, except professional group 5, that covers operational activities, such as cleaning crew, mechanic, receptionist, and obtained an average score of  6,42 (DP=4,72) for the infrastructure and routine factors - above average for this group. Summing up, the majority of the participants showed little susceptibility to stress, when considering the midpoint on the scale and its subscales.
