Abstract

NASCIMENTO, Iasmin Libalde; DUARTE, Lucas Có Barros  and  MORAES, Thiago Drumond. Health of Psychologists Working in Social Assistance Reference Centers. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2018, vol.18, n.2, pp. 373-380. ISSN 1984-6657.  http://dx.doi.org/10.17652/rpot/2018.2.14004.

This study aimed to discuss the occupational health of the psychologist in Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS), based on some characteristics present in the work of these professionals. A total of 53 psychologists working in basic social protection services in the State of Espírito Santo participated in the study. The participants answered an online questionnaire composed of the following instruments: JCQ, WHOQOL-BREF, SRQ-20; and sociodemographic questions. The results indicate that the work of the psychologist in these spaces is characterized as active work, however a high level of mental illness and low quality of life among the participants was observed. The control dimension, in the work context of psychologists who work at CRAS, does not seem to contribute positively to worker health as predicted in the theoretical model. It is essential to build strategies to transform the current working conditions of these professionals and contribute to developing the labor activity in these spaces in a healthier way.

Keywords : occupational health; working conditions; psychologist performance.
