Epistemiology, as a metalanguage of science and in its hole of defender of scientific accuracy, has been put to test in contemporaneity face of the present diversity of knowledge. This essay criticizes the traditional view of epistemology and it has the objective to propose photography as a form of knowledge production, especially in the humanities and social sciences. In this context, with this vision and with the understanding that the photographer's work is very similar to the work of research, the authors conclude that photography can serve as a real possibility of method in contemporary science.
