Abstract

PERIM, Silvia Lorenzoni. Understanding a tale for boys and girls 6 years old: an exploratory study. Rev. Psicol. UNESP [online]. 2014, vol.13, n.2, pp. 32-40. ISSN 1984-9044.

This paper aims to survey the studies already done using the fairy tale as a research tool, and present data from a research project using a fable as research tool. The continuity of research with children using the fable as a research tool, based on Piagetian perspective seeks access opportunities to cognitive, affective and moral processes and promotes understanding of the psychological development of the participants. The exploratory study was conducted with six years old children and the analysis of fable reconstitution of the participants revealed differences between boys and girls. In fact, this research method is a privileged way to access and understand children's representations and may offer important contributions to the study of human development.

Keywords : childhood; representation; fable; Piaget.
