This article aims to discuss the use of artistic and expressive resources in family therapy. It is organized as a theoretical-clinical study, based on qualitative methodology. Thus begins with a presentation of the theoretical aspects underlying this type of intervention with the public involved. Then, it presents a clinical illustration of a family accompanied in a psychological university service, whose treatment was mediated by artistic and expressive resources. Terminates, pointing to the potential of art therapy in family interventions, it being understood that it promotes not only the communication of the participants but also the elaboration of issues concerning the family group.
