The characteristics of entrepreneurs are differential for psychologists working in the organizational area. Considering the relevance of entrepreneurship in the professional context, we sought to categorize the characteristics of entrepreneurs who present the psychologists who work with consulting in Psychology of Work and Organizations in Santa Maria (RS). Data were collected through semi - structured interviews with six organizational psychologists, through content analysis. Based on Caird (2013) as the mai n entrepreneurial characteristics, it was found that there is a predominance of these characteristics in the interviewed psychologists, although not in all aspects. Among the six, only two presented all the characteristics, predominating the great need for accomplishment and the need for autonomy. The least present characteristic of the interviewed psychologists is the creative tendency, indicating possible difficulties regarding innovation.
