In times of political, economic and social rights crisis, this experience report discuss the relevance of the Community Centers (CECOs) in the consolidation of the substitutive mental health system. Among the services advocated by the SUS, they are the ones with the lowest visibility and, consequently, have little interest /investmen t of public policies. We understand that these services act in the front line of the interface between art/culture/leisure/education /work . They operate based on the rescue of the communitarian dimension and desire of each subject. From this perspective, we start with the analysis of public policies and the psychoanalytic approach to discuss clinical - institutional aspects present in CECOs. In this study, scenes from the experience of one of the authors in a CECO of the Municipality of Campinas are used.
