Abstract

AZCOAGA, Juan. Only one semantic code: multiple phonological-syntactic codes. Neuropsicologia Latinoamericana [online]. 2011, vol.3, n.2, pp. 1-6. ISSN 2075-9479.

This essay explores the notion stating that phonology and syntax are what makes any language different and characterizes it. Nevertheless, the semantic code has much in common between languages. In order to look into the structural differences of words and the similarity of meaning among languages very frequent referents (e.g., sun, woman, and house) will be presented in different languages

Keywords : Semantics; Phonology; Language; Linguistics.
