Most patients suffering brain injuries acquire some type of aphasia. There are few appropriate tools in Brazilian for neuropsychological assessment and diagnosis of aphasic patients. The "System of Psychological Assessment Tests" (SATEPSI, in portuguese) of the Brazilian Federal Council of Psychology does not list anyone. This situation difficult the development of appropriate intervention programs consistent with the patient's difficulties. The adaptation of an instrument to evaluate neuropsychological mechanisms that underlies language to Brazilian Portuguese is presented. It is considered that the instrument presented here is useful for diagnosis and neuropsychological assessment of patients suffering from acquired language disorders because it provides important information for designing an effective intervention consistent to the difficulties of the patients.
