Free lexical retrieval test is a high value tool in psycholinguistic, neurolinguistic and neuropsychcological practice. This tool has been used in order to explore the fluency in normal and brain injured subjects, in other respects, as a procedure for looking into the mental lexicon organization and access. For this reason, in the present work we made use of this tool in order to know the most frequent expressed words in a group of participants and also to identify what type of associations were established and the strategies used for the retrieval of words. We set out to analyze the strategies used to recall words in a defined time and to establish peers with semantic proximity and distance. 45 men and 45 women were selected by a random procedure. Subject's ages were between 16-19 years old. They were asked to express the major quantity of words in a minute. During this task subjects were sitting with close eyes. Results revealed that all participants retrieved around 20 words per minute and the words pronounced were conducted by semantic fields and phonological transitions.
