Abstract

This paper analyses the history of neuropsychological studies of Parkinsonism and neuropsychological approach to patients' rehabilitation. L.S. Vigotsky was one of the authors who proposed to use external instruments to facilitate the movements in patients with Parkinsonism. The usage of external instruments is called as "mediation" in cultural and historical neuropsychology. Mediatization offers reflective and conscious movements in patients. The author of the article proposes original program for gait and cognitive functions rehabilitation in patients with syndrome of Parkinson in Russia. This program is based on Vigotsky principle of mediation and voluntary activity. Possitive results obtained after application of the program in a group of patients are presented. Objective and subjective means of remediation are discussed. The possibility of therapeutic help in cases of Parkinsonism are discussed.
