Neuropsychology has been growing and developing at a progressive rate here in Latin America, offering a fundamental contribution to the comprehension of the cognitive and behavioral patterns of the patients. In this new context it is important to reflect upon the neuropsychological assessment practice as well as the theoretical models used to support such. The objective of this brief report is to point out the differences existing between the Traditional Model of Assessment, used mainly to obtain information, vis-a-vis the Therapeutic Assessment as well as their application and indication for use.
