Abstract

ARISTIZABAL, Edith T.; HOWE, Kimberly  and  PALACIO, Jorge E.. Vulneración psicológica en víctimas y victimarios por efecto del conflicto armado en Magdalena, Atlántico, Cesar, Sucre y Bolívar. rev. psicol. univ. antioquia [online]. 2009, vol.1, n.2, pp.07-25. ISSN 2145-4892.

Experiences of subjugation by violent acts can be one of the more significant factors in the weakening, debilitation, and breaking of a person's psychological balance. The psychological weakening result of traumatic events unfolds in two stages, and between these stages there is a gap that can be described as an state of suspension where the subject surrender all interest for his present and future, leaving his psyche attached to a fragment of the past. This research seeks to account for the different positions that a subject assumes to flee or avoid being exposed to violence, and for the degrees of responsibility or lack of it in the process of subjectivation of those acts. This research seeks to understand the subjective position taken by 15 men and 15 women that identified themselves either as victims or victimizers. The population belongs to refugee and reintegration communities settled in two municipalities and three districts of the Colombian Caribbean.
