ISSN 2145-4892.
This is a detailed analysis of a Somatization Disorder case that is associated with workplace harassment. For the clinical evaluation and diagnostic process some psychometric tests were applied, the BDI (Beck, 1973), the Cisneros Scale (Fidalgo and Piñuel, 2004), and the MOS (Sherbourne & Stewart, 1991). These tests are used to assess depression, the severity of workplace harassment, and perceived social support. Unstructured interview and the review of the medical history were also performed. The test's results showed that the patient had symptoms of Somatization Disorder in comorbidity with a Major Depression Disorder, Anxiety, and Personality Changes after psychiatric illness. All these symptoms were exacerbated by an unresolved workplace harassment incident.
