Abstract

GIL CORREA, Beatriz Alicia. The Myth of Medusa and The World of Aesthetic Transformation in the Alpha Dream-Work of the Therapist. rev. psicol. univ. antioquia [online]. 2012, vol.4, n.1, pp. 57-74. ISSN 2145-4892.

This article presents an extract of the results and the interpretive analysis of a research and intervention project that sought to explore and describe the impact of incest on the psyche, and the implications of trauma in three institutionalized patients (in situations of abuse) through individual psychoanalytically oriented intervention therapy. This interpretive analysis of the effects of incest on the mind and body of the girls allows the use of the Myth of Medusa, and its aesthetic understanding, to propose that as a Myth it allows one to understand the horror of incest and its psychic annihilation; and the management of family, institution and legal, of the phenomenon.

Keywords : Incest; Family structure; Psychological and relational dynamics; Models of care and intervention; the Medusa.
