Abstract

This article reports on a study by psychologists at the Manuela Beltrán University in Bogota about changes in executive functions in polydrug of psychoactive substances (SPA). The technique used was the application of neuropsychological tests to two groups of individuals - polydrug and controls-, to contrast the performance on tasks of executive functioning; the results show the relationship between long term use of different psychoactive substances and low performance in executive functions, relationship that regarding treatment for these patients, involves the need to include neuropsychological rehabilitation in order to reduce executives deficits produced by the consume.
