Abstract

RODRIGUEZ ALVARADO, Migdalia Carolina; PEROZO SANCHEZ, Carmen Mariangel  and  MATUTE LOPEZ, Jaseri Daniela. Resistance to Peer Pressure and Alcohol Consumption in Adolescents. rev. psicol. univ. antioquia [online]. 2014, vol.6, n.1, pp. 25-40. ISSN 2145-4892.

The primary objective of this research was to evaluate the relationship between resistance to group pressure and alcohol consumption in adolescents. A sample of 218 high school students alcohol users, 96 men and 122 women was used. The results indicate that there is a significant relationship between the resistance to pressure of overall group (r=0309, p <0.01), direct (r= -0.243, P <0.00), indirect (r= -0.278, P <0.00), perceived (r=0.168, p <0.013) and alcohol consumption in adolescents. These data give way to the development of future prevention programs to increase the resistance levels in students, thereby reducing the intake of this substance in them.
