Abstract

NICOLAU, Roseane Freitas  and  GUEDES, Ana Cleide. Psychology studies and post-graduation at UFPA. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2010, vol.2, n.1, pp. 3-19. ISSN 2175-2591.

This article presents the Post-Graduation Program in Psychology emphasizing the circumstances, which preceded its foundation as well as its proposal and lines of research. Also, it focuses the effort undertaken towards creating and fortifying clinical studies and social demand in a geographical area that lacks studies in this field. It is well known that developmental agencies have promoted social insertion of psychology, besides stimulating scientific production concerning this field of research. This paper gives special emphasis on the work that has been developed in order to make scientific production coherent to social commitment. The paper proposes, also, a theoretical and methodologically construction supported by the latest contributions in the field. For the authors, such procedure is necessary in order not to make a mere description of technical procedures but, rather, a political production of knowledge, which is capable of supporting psychological procedures.

Keywords : post-graduation; scientific production; social commitment.
