We seek to analyze how the concept of normal body, based on medical knowledge biologist, manages the bodies named as intersex. According to the Intersex Society North American intersex is a term used to designate bodies whose anatomy does not suit to male or female patterns. We used as primary source of medical research documents, which were classified as academic and legal. We take the stance of treating these documentary materials as discursive practices, as these are products and producers of social practices. We observed in the documents studied the characteristics that allow doctors classify a body as feminine or masculine, what interventions after diagnosis of intersexuality and how these procedures are justified. We concludes that the field of intersexuality the medical device appropriates the psychological discourse to establish the binarism of sex and gender as the only possible way of existence.

Keywords : intersexuality; discursive practices; device of sexuality; queer theory.
