This article analyzes the contributions of anthropology of health and disease for the construction of new health practices. To this end, we point out the conflicts and exchanges between the knowledge of biomedicine and popular therapists, showing the importance of the anthropology of health / disease in this debate. The analysis also addresses the development of this area of knowledge, and its contribution to practice more conscious of health, from the recognition of health and disease as sociocultural processes. Therefore, the anthropology of health and disease can bring new possibilities to rethink one health policy more human, besides enabling a new meaning to the everyday activities of health professionals.
