SALES, Yuri de Nóbrega; SOUSA, André Feitosa de  e  CAVALCANTE JUNIOR, Francisco Silva. Person-centered science and research: three models and its effects on conducting academic investigation. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2012, vol.4, n.2, pp. 99-112. ISSN 2175-2591.

This article aims at discussing three distinct metaphorical-imagetic models for describing scientific activity, based in an approach which recovers historical references as to provide conceptual framework inspired on Carl Rogers´ theory. While the first two were developed before his death in 1987, the third was mentioned here in an introductory view, considered a post-mortem challenge inherited by the concept of Formative Tendency as conceived during the 1970s. Understanding the Person Centered Approach as the heir of a particular scientific dimension and academic posture the authors argue how to actualize those templates for contemporary days as to avoid dismissing those elements completely. In order to apply adequate criterias, it is urgent to acknowledge the imagetic rationally supporting those two previous scientific models and imagine the methodological possibilities related with the concept of Formative Tendency.
