This study describes the experience developed by Extension Program Ambulatório de Ansiedade e Depressão (AMBAD) structuring a model of the therapeutic contract group, with the aim of enhancing the therapeutic alliance, commitment and conscious adherence of patients to a treatment protocol with time limitation based on the principles of brief psychotherapies. We start from the theoretical approach to the therapeutic contract, description of the setting developed by AMBAD and its implications in the treatment offered to patients diagnosed with anxiety disorders or depression. We performed a qualitative analysis of the records of the groups and it was observed that patient who participated in the group contract, obtaining clarification on the fit of treatment and knowingly consenting to the same, had good adherence to treatment.
