Abstract

What is the relation between health and disease?. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2013, vol.5, n.2, pp. 23-45. ISSN 2175-2591.

This article is a brief note on the theoretical understanding of the terms Health / Disease prevailing in society, and aims to discuss, in particular, the relationship between the two terms. In this sense, the article aims to reflect on the concept of health / disease , considering how it is understood by medicine, since the prevailing hegemonic exercise centered on a prescriptive act and in production procedures, the individualization of the normal model and the pathological to the body of man - biological level, leading to a break with social issues, and that himself, with a concept contained in the health, biological, physical limits of the human body, taking in relation to this object, a rational approach . We can conclude that it is necessary to search for the meaning of health / disease by a directed interpersonal relationships that are established between people at the meeting, in recognition of the other as legitimate in their uniqueness and differences. Envisage the possibility of a caring associating at various knowledge and understanding the meaning of health as the ability to instruct new standards in different situations
