Abstract

BORBA, Jean Marlos Pinheiro  and  SOUZA, Simone Batista de. Being able to see is essential: the phenomenological attitude revealed through the poetry of Alberto CaeiroEs esencial saber ver: una actitude fenomenológica revelado en la poesia de Alberto Caeiro. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2014, vol.6, n.1, pp. 15-42. ISSN 2175-2591.

This article is the result from the readings of Alberto Caeiro's poems having the Phenomenology as the theoretical basis. Closer and farther links between Caeiro's Didactics or "Science of seeing" and the method of phenomenology proposed by Edmund Husserl (1859-1938) were drawn from the analysis of four representative poems selected from Caeiro's work. It is in the radical eyes of Alberto Caeiro and in the statement of man's freedom in directly access the phenomena that a way of life full of phenomenology is revealed. Caeiro in his way of making poetry guides us to rediscover the path that leads "back to things themselves", enunciated by Edmund Husserl.
