This article aims to present the notion of experience over Carl Rogers' works and how it is built, outlining the nuances of this construction according to the stages of his thought. We performed bibliographical research, which identifies possible conceptions of the term experience in the main works of the author, allocated according to the phases of his thought, described by authors who discuss the Rogers literature. We used some of the main commentators on his work to support our research and collaborate with the findings certification. We presented the importance of the term experience in the psychotherapy model development proposed by Carl Rogers.
