Abstract

AZEVEDO, Rafael Torres  and  TELLES, Thabata Castelo Branco. "Not everything on crack": a Sartrean perspective on the issue of freedom among these users. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.2, pp. 78-98. ISSN 2175-2591.

The addiction to a psychoactive substance can only be explained if considering its multiple dimensions. The use of crack has challenged health policies regarding the user treatment and his reintegration into society. The research in scientific initiation titled: "The experience of craving among crack users: a phenomenological study" showed that it would be important to discuss the issue of freedom related to craving, since this is an impediment to leave the addiction. In this research conducted at the Center for Psychosocial Care - Alcohol and Drugs in Uberaba, sixopen interviews were made aiming to explore the experiences of users. One of the results showed that despite the craving, not everything is done to obtain the crack. Then, though a Sartrean comprehension, this topic is discussed that even facing the craving, there is freedom to pursue a different future.

Keywords : crack; Craving; Freedom.
