The article's aim is to present an integrative review of the national literature in psychology concerning the use of the Phenomenological Empirical Method to understand how it has been applied and its contributions to the production of scientific knowledge in Brazil. The sample has been composed of eight articles with analysis being characterized by such categories as: title, author, publishing year, periodic, types of study, aims, description and method application, so as in, the principal results that had been found. The results indicated two important conclusions: The lack of publications that use the method in question and, on the other hand, the important contributions of theses studies about human's understanding, their experiences and how they are experienced, material of significant validity to the science of psychology.
