This paper presents a clinical intervention called Existential Group inspired by the gestalt phenomenology, work of scientific cooperation between the Center for Phenomenological Research and the Specialized Center of Attention to man, on the Public Defense of Pará. The group was composed of 10 participants aiming to provide men between 31 and 70 years a space and a private time for the conscious expansion of contact. 10 sessions were made addressing the contributions of each to the violent event, including ways of the couple make choices; make decisions and attitudes; way of speaking and silence, impose the will; stigmas and stereotypes of identity, subjectivity and sociability of men and women. Among the results occurred reduction of delays, of mistrust and of negative mood of the participants, and reflections on differences between the controls for subjectivity made by men and women. In conclusion, the group offered existential self-contact experiences, awareness and critical listening without judgment. The bond between participants and staff favored the expression of intimate emotions. For the results of the experiences, being consolidated is necessary follow-up of the couple.
