This study aims to comprehend the communication references in the clinic, through the understanding of the bonds that are set in family relationships considering the high rates of domestic violence against the elderly. The analytical reference is provided by the gestalt language that can include words and art. The text presents a literature review of narrative type which in the year 1977-2014 is divided into three topics: therapeutic language, violence and aggression as a body communication mode and a therapeutic do. It was observed that the contact made by the aggression carried out by the family against the elderly demands to uncover the multiple meanings emitted by people in relation to violence. We conclude that, in the context of Gestalt Therapy, art and creativity are therapeutic languages that favor the overcoming of neurotic adjustments.
