Abstract

This experience report aims to explore and think of photography as a language to express the phenomenon of disaster as a constraint of the existential freedom of those affected in Paracatu de Baixo, Mariana district, destroyed by the rupture of the Samarco Fundão dam on November 5 Of 2015. For this, a theoretical framework will be constructed, addressing the following structuring concepts: disaster, vulnerabilities, risk, resilience, existential freedom, language, photography as language. The methodological conduction of the research will be done through phenomenological archeology and the main result is the presentation, through photographic language, of how the disaster in question interfered with and interferes with the existential freedom of those affected in the district of Paracatu de Baixo.
