Abstract

REIS, Elisabete Rodrigues dos. Place of Meaning. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.2, pp. 109-123. ISSN 2175-2591.

A reflection about the perspective of experience as a possibility of compreension and imterpretation of inhabited spaces. From the theoretical approaches developed by the architect Christian Norberg-Schulz, in the classical publications Intentions in Architecture; Existence, Space and Architecture; Genius Loci; Towards a Phenomenology in Architecture, and from the use of phenomenology as a method applied in the construction of knowledge and architectural creation, we occupy ourselves in explaining some of the principal concepts created by the author. Our main objective is to describe the potentialities of these concepts and the ideas presented by the author in the constitution of meaning in architectiure. Considering heterogenesis and the mutiplicity of variables which compose the architectural scene, we amplifyed the reflection on the search for proximities and dialogues with other theoretical references and authors having assumed other studies of inter-related variables which configure inhabited spaces, here comprehended as imaginary dimensions, simbolic and affective.

Keywords : Place; Landscape; Existential space; Time.
