Abstract

LOPEZ OLIVARES, Aide Esmeralda; CAMARGO, Giselle Guilhon Antunes  and  PIMENTEL, Adelma do Socorro Gonçalves. Art and Health: performance as therapeutic intervention. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.3, pp. 78-92. ISSN 2175-2591.  http://dx.doi.org/10.26823/RevistadoNUFEN.vol09.n03artigo15.

The study presents a reflection about the use of expressive artistic forms in the therapeutic work through, specifically, the intervention. It discusses, under a phenomenological-hermeneutic approach, the use of performance as a transdisciplinary artistic alternative, involving certain actions of sensorial and expressive stimulus that can, through the subjective experience of the body, impel a process of self-knowledge and personal development. In this way, the work aims to generate as a proposition the use of the performance as an artistic device in the therapeutic intervention. In this context, we emphasize the possibility that the therapeutic processes allow the use of art and the exploration of the imagination, as well as the use of performance as strategies of intervention and as an act ethical and poetic capable of arousing, touching emotionally the human and interposing like a complementary alternative to the therapeutic area.
