SILVA, Ellen Fernanda Gomes Da  and  SANTOS, Suely Emilia De Barros. Existential Phenomenology as a path for qualitative research in Psychology. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.3, pp. 110-126. ISSN 2175-2591.

In this bibliographical article, we intend to put in discussion a possible path for qualitative research in Psychology, taking as direction the presuppositions of the Existential Phenomenology. For this, we present qualitative research and demarcate essential differences between research guided by metaphysical thought and research through hermeneutical thought - important singular diversities, in order to expand the knowledge of qualitative research in Psychology with more scientific rigor. In this sense, we point to the Logbook and the Conversation Wheel as two modes of investigation / intervention that have been adopted in several academic studies, both crossed by the narrative of experience and technique in the original sense - techné, as well as the references we take as points of illumination to guide us in the comprehensive analysis. Thus, the method for comprehensive analysis in question was given by Critelli's "Analytic of Sense" and Gadamer's "Philosophical Hermeneutics". From this we can point out that existential phenomenological inspiration inaugurates another way of understanding the qualitative research in Psychology, by putting experience as a guide and by allowing a twist in the understanding of method as a metho-met. Such a way of research, illuminated by non-metaphysical presuppositions, can give rise to reflections / understandings about the phenomenon that seeks to know; reflections that are made in the course of the research, following the clues of the question that guides the researcher and the movement of the phenomenon itself.
