The article proposes to discuss how the training of the psychologist has helped in the future professional practice in mental health, understanding that the formation bases the practice. The study was conducted in the year 2015 and the objects researched were mental health and training in Psychology in Brazil. The method is described as exploratory, qualitative, and documentary, and the technique to treat the data was content analysis. The themes and contents on mental health present in the Pedagogical Projects of the Psychology of Goiás Courses (PPCs) were researched. The analysis pointed out that the theme of mental health and related contents are somehow present in the menus of the subjects and in the curricular matrices of the courses of Psychology of Goiás, however in an unsatisfactory way. There is still a limited space for mental health education and a small workload for the discussion of this theme.
