Abstract

SANTOS, Cristina Vianna Moreira dos. Psychic suffering and suicide risk: Dialogue on mental health at university. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2019, vol.11, n.2, pp. 149-160. ISSN 2175-2591.  http://dx.doi.org/10.26823/RevistadoNUFEN.vol11.nº02rex29.

The cycle of debates on "Psychological Suffering" proposed by the Psychology Course of the Federal University of Tocantins was an extension action developed in December 2017 that aimed to foster a dialogue with students and the community about mental health. "Surviving Suicide" was the theme of the cycle of debates that promoted the construction of a dialogue on suicide as a matter of collective health and mental health. Aimed at the academic community and the community in general, the purpose of the meeting, in the conversation circles format, was to receive and clarify doubts about the topic. Strategies for risk prevention, referral to specialized services, management and follow-up of the treatment of survivors to the attempts were highlighted. The testimonies and shared exchanges revealed the need to think of actions articulated in a protection network, strengthening strategies aimed at risk prevention and the promotion of mental health.
