Abstract

ARAUJO, Lucivaldo da Silva  and  BASSALO, Juliana Ferreira. Modes of care and mental health: Points for a psychosocial practices. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2019, vol.11, n.3, pp. 137-153. ISSN 2175-2591.  http://dx.doi.org/10.26823/RevistadoNUFEN.vol11.nº03ensaio51.

The emergence of modes of care that break with the asylum paradigm of care, expands the notions of health to a plan in which the intersubjective power of relationships is valued. The comprehensiveness of the look on the subject and his suffering is valued, prevailing the "taking care" over the "treating". In this article, by reflecting on modes of care and psychosocial practices in mental health we point to a genuine psychosocial care sustained in the centrality of actions focused on client demands from their network of relationships, without losing sight of the role of bonding, attitude of interest in the Other, a sensitive listening to the real, a listening that does not exclude; on the contrary, it values ambiguity, ambivalence; which reveals the paradox; Listening able to open to chaos, listening that provides the creation of possibilities in living with psychic suffering and its socio-cultural relations. It is a movement that values intersubjectivity, because it is from it that flow new meanings that enhance the appropriation of life and rescue the ontology of a care, without which, we are no longer human.
