This article searches to present the affective and emotional meanings experienced by women affected by breast cancer, from their experiences during the beginning of chemotherapy treatment. To reach he meanings of the participants, we base the study on the theoretical-experiential perspective of the Person-Centered Approach, proposing as methodology of data collection experiential interviews, and a comprehensive analysis of the data, substantiated by the use of IRAMUTEQ software. The participants point to the importance of support systems in face of the physical and environmental changes that occurred during treatment; the record of the changes provoked are beyond the physical marks, since the interactions with the people and the look of these, influence the way women perceive themselves, and perceive the other, that sometimes lends itself as a source of support, other times as a promoter stigma and insecurities. The results reaffirm the importance of aid relationships that promote health during treatment
