This study aimed to identify whether psychology professionals working in the traditional clinic feel and are able to work in emergencies and disasters. Field research was carried out, with a qualitative approach, through a semi-structured interview conducted with 10 clinical psychologists from Santarém - Pará. It was observed that most professionals, according to their specializations and experiences in areas similar to emergencies, say they feel able to act in disaster situations and at other times the contradiction in the responses was noted, emphasizing the need for further studies in the area, especially in the psychology training existing in the region
