ABSTRACT The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted humanity. Time marked by anguish in the face of death that is announced daily and by anxiety in the absence of perspectives for change in the installed chaos. We turned to universities that were affected at all levels, and it was necessary to inaugurate a remote way of inhabiting higher education. We read the report of an experience of on-line psychological duty deployed to listen to university students from the perspective of Heidegger's hermeneutics. We saw that the pandemic scenario favors the emergence and intensification of manifestations of suffering and that Psychology had to deal with its know-how. The use of technologies proved to be powerful, but showed limits. We highlight the online psychological duty as a current clinical action committed to an existence in transit, as the world and its epochal and historical movement constitute us and permeate each expression of suffering.
