Abstract

LEITAO, Consuelena Lopes; MOREIRA, Loristeffane Castro  and  SOUZA, Sander Firmo de. Psychodance as a Therapeutic Action: experience report during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.2, pp. 71-81. ISSN 2175-2591.

ABSTRACT This experience report is the result of actions by the Committee to Confront COVID-19, of the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM). Its objective was to demonstrate a therapeutic activity associated with dance to promote mental health during the period of social isolation resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. To make group activities viable, applications and social networks were used, with synchronous and asynchronous moments, through video recordings with choreographies, dance lives on Instagram and conversation circles on the Google Meet platform. Students and employees of UFAM participated, as well as the external community. We use as theoretical support the existential analysis that seeks the meaning of existence in each personal experience. The practice with dance went beyond physical exercise, it minimized anxiety, worries and stress. It brought stories together and enabled the construction of new emotional bonds.
