Abstract

LEONCIO, Andriele. Logotherapy and self-transcendence: scenarios that allow protagonism in front of own existence. Rev. NUFEN [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.3, pp. 23-34. ISSN 2175-2591.

ABSTRACT This article seeks to understand to what extent living as a protagonist of one's own existence can be related to the concept of self-transcendence, presented by Logotherapy. Conceptions of conscience, freedom and responsibility were explored through a narrative literature review, with data collection and consultation carried out in a non- systematic way. The platforms used as sources were BVS-Psi and Scielo. With the data obtained, there was a greater understanding of the alternatives that make it possible to delimit one's own history and experience a meaningful life. The results suggest that the sense of meaning is linked to the perception and search for one's own potential senses. Conducting life in a conscious and responsible way is linked to the noetic dimension, enabling the encounter of meaning. Self-realization is outside of oneself, pointing to the capacity for self-transcendence, personality configuration and expansion of self-knowledge.

Keywords : Logotherapy; Existence; Freedom.
