Neuropsychological rehabilitation aims to rehabilitate and even enable behavioral, cognitive and emotional abilities in cases of deficits in the development of the Central Nervous System, Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ND). There is a wide range of techniques, one of them is Equine assisted therapy that uses horse management to develop neuropsychological functions of children and adolescents with ND. Our objective was to analyze the efficacy of equine assisted therapy in children and adolescents with ND. A systematic review with articles published between 2010 and 2016 was carried out. The search were carried out at the Capes periodicals, BVS Salud and EBSCO, Medline database, with the descriptors neuropsychological rehabilitation AND equine assisted therapy. Ten articles were analyzed, the results showed that rehabilitation by equine assisted therapy in children and adolescents was effective in the disorders, showing improvement in social skills, sensory processing, behavioral skills, cognition and humor: depressive symptoms. The efficacy of equine assisted therapy can be understood by the bias of the neuroplasticity, brain capacity of neuronal reorganization, considering of fundamental importance for such, the learn. It is suggested to carry out more empirical studies with the theme of this study considering its therapeutic relevance.
