Abstract

The research attempted to investigate the phenomenon of pregnancy in adolescence from the perception of the mothers of pregnant adolescents, considering family relational aspects in a systemic approach. It had a transversal character, bringing qualitative data from the study of multiple cases with three women who have a pregnant adolescent daughter. The instruments used were the sociodemographic questionnaire and the semistructured interview, applied in the residences of the participants. The main results of the thematic analysis and cross-case synthesis were: the presence of gender stereotypes with significant absence of paternal function, dysfunctional parent styles, transgenerational occurrences in terms of patterns of relationship, helplessness, violence and pregnancy in adolescence itself, as well as family structures with borders's pathologies. It was concluded that the planning of the pregnancy in this period of the life cycle carries important family aspects that need to be considered in preventive and interventional processes, in order to interrupt vicious dysfunction family's cycles.
