This work seeks to reflect on the current condition of children and youth who are sentenced to socioeducational measures in Brazil. It aims to better understand the phenomenon related to this transition from childhood to adulthood, particularly, in populations on the poorest sections of society; seeking elements to deal with issues related to violence, to aggression and illegal acts, without resorting to brutal methods and often inhumane with which the state uses to ensure order. The defense of human rights and a fair and truly educational treatment is our ultimate goal in this endeavor.
