Abstract

The present report aims to present the Strategy Healthy Brasileirinhas and Brasileirinhos - First Steps for the National Development - EBBS, research-intervention in progress, which began in the year 2007 by the Ministry of Health in partnership with the Osvaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ). The National Institute for Women, Children and Adolescent Fernandes Figueira (IFF) FIOCRUZ unit focused on attention, teaching, and research in the field maternal and infant, is hosting the EBBS from 2010. This research appeared in line with the Growth Acceleration Program of the Federal Government, which in the Area of Health (CAP/HEALTH, 2007) was made up of a way to articulate the Health and Psychiatric reforms in our country, trying to find a pattern of development committed to growth, well-being and equity in access to the health of the Brazilian people. The Strategy Healthy Brasileirinhas and Brasileirinhos aims to contribute to the construction of a national public policy directed to the integral health care of the child until ten years old, highlighting the importance of taking care of the Early Childhood, in order to ensure the life with quality for the Brazilian citizen.
